* For model year 1991 Johnson / Evinrude increased the prop shaft diameter at the carrier needle bearing (not the prop splines) from
1-3/16” to 1-1/4”. Some older gearcases may be fitted with the new large diameter prop shaft. The large diameter prop shaft utilizes a
thrust washer (included with this gear set) between the prop shaft and reverse gear. Discard the thrust washer when using the small
diameter prop shaft.
